Nefertari Yancie

Nefertari Yancie is an educator who taught high school and earned her doctoral degree in Birmingham before becoming an assistant professor of history education at Kennesaw State University in Georgia. Her research interests include developing students’ historical empathy skills utilizing counter narratives, first-person perspective writing, and historical dialogues. Her research especially focusers on how historical empathy can be utilized in the classroom to explore how enduring issues such as racism and social injustice have their roots in the past and continue to impact the present.
