The Bending the Arc Project seeks to build awareness of the lessons of history, not only to help avoid repetition of past mistakes, but also to inspire activism today to address ongoing injustices.

Birmingham, Alabama, and the surrounding areas have a vast array of organizations working to promote social justice. There are also many talented Birminghamians who have written books, produced films, and created other resources that shine a light on social-justice issues from their unique vantage points.

The Bending the Arc Project has curated this library so that you can learn more and get involved. We will continue to add resources to this list and invite you to contact us to suggest additional organizations, books, and films.
