Frank Hardy

Frank Hardy is a self-taught artist and community activist who was born and raised in Selma, Alabama. His bold, colorful paintings often speak to the historic and current significance of civil rights, human rights, and the contributions African Americans made to this nation. He was instrumental in the development of the Selma Youth Development Center, where he taught art, dance, and boxing to underprivileged youth for more than 20 years. He now lives and works in Montgomery, where he opened The Village Gallery, a unique art gallery and social venue that is a haven for local artists.
